Tomato Heiress Candle

An artisanal creation from Elm Atelier deserves thoughtful care. Follow these guidelines to enjoy your candle beautifully and safely.

Prepare Your Space

• Place your candle on a flat, heat-resistant surface.
  
• Protect delicate materials like wood or marble with a tray or stand.
  
• Keep away from flammable materials, and out of reach of children and pets.
  

Lighting Your Candle

• Light your candle with a match or long lighter to avoid burns.
  
• For the first burn, allow the wax to melt evenly across the surface (about 3–4 hours, depending on the scent). This prevents tunneling and helps your candle burn evenly in the future.
  
• A small wisp of smoke when first lit is normal.
  

While Burning

• Do not burn your candle for more than 4 hours at a time after the first burn.
  
• Never leave a lit candle unattended.
  
• Avoid moving your candle while burning or when the wax is still hot.
  
• Keep away from drafts, and leave at least 4 inches (10 cm) between burning candles.
  

After Each Use

• Extinguish the flame gently, ideally with a snuffer, to prevent wax splatter.
  
• Re-center the wick while the wax is still soft.
  
• Before relighting, trim the wick to about 3–5 mm to ensure a clean, even flame.
  

Final Notes

• Discontinue use once only 5 mm of wax remains, or when the metal wick base becomes visible.
  

Aftercare & Storage

• Allow the wax to cool completely before handling or moving your candle.
  
• Air out the room after burning to refresh the space.
  
• Store in a cool, dry place (59°F–77°F / 15°C–25°C), away from direct sunlight to preserve the wax and fragrance.
